Inside Track

When I reached my 60th birthday my friends said to me "Welcome to the waiting room", but I decided to apply for a job with npower and was successful. It's changed my life - I've become computer literate and got a real insight into the way the company works, thanks to the variety of challenges I deal with.

My role involves in-depth investigations into customer accounts. I really enjoy it, especially working in close contact with customers and colleagues to help solve their queries. And I also love the diversity and attitude of the people I work with - everyone's really friendly, patient, approachable and always ready to help.

Customer Administration

I joined npower as a Customer Adviser on the Responsibility Query Team, which involved talking to customers and collating information from them to resolve their query. It was a challenge, but really interesting and rewarding. Since then I've been promoted to a Senior Adviser, which includes supporting the team with metering complaints and supporting new team members until they become comfortable with the processes.

npower's a great company to work for - the people are friendly and the managers really support your personal development.

Customer Administration

I joined npower over 6 years ago as a Contact Centre Adviser and since then my career's gone from strength to strength, thanks to the excellent support and managers I've had the pleasure of working with along the way. After spending 3 years at the Contact Centre I progressed on to become a Coach, training and mentoring new employees and helping them develop the key skills required to be a fully effective member of the npower team. I'm currently a Team Manager at the Contact Centre with my own team, and have been in this position now for almost 2 years.

I've developed more than I could ever have imagined I would when I first joined the company - the support's fantastic and it's given me the confidence to progress. The support and overall satisfaction I have from working here makes me want to recommend npower as an employer to anyone and everyone.

Customer Administration

I joined npower straight from university on a temporary contract, and was offered a permanent contract within 9 months. I progressed to Team Manager within 2 years and while I loved this role, I'd always wanted to work in Training. I was promoted to my role as a Senior Trainer 4 years later and have really enjoyed transferring the skills I gained working in the business into what I currently do.

I've seen the company grow and evolve over the years that I've worked here, and have met and worked with many friendly and interesting people. There have always been opportunities open to me, including internal and external training courses and this has helped me develop and progress.
