The Roles

Just like our services, we offer a wide variety of careers at MeterPlus, including Business Support and Administration, Billing, Business Reporting and Analysis, Contract Management, Change Management and Project Management.

Here are some examples of the main opportunities we offer:

Meter Reader

Visiting around 280 customers every day, you'll read electric and gas meters for npower and/or a number of utility service providers.

Metering Fixer/Electrician

Visiting up to 25 customers a day, you'll be responsible for the installation and repair of electric and gas meters for npower and/or a number of utility service providers.

Revenue Recovery/Protection

Responsible for discussing and negotiating our customers' outstanding accounts, you'll agree various options to obtain full settlement. You'll also install token/key meters, apply for warrants and execute them, carry out gas and electricity safety inspections, visit vacant sites to complete property status reports and investigate and report on disputed accounts to suppliers.

Call Centre Adviser

Handling calls from suppliers, meter operators and customers, you'll also help manage our health and safety van/operative tracking system and be a first point of contact for the people in the field lone working policy.

Clerical Assistants

You'll undertake a variety of administrative duties, including data input, general correspondence, scheduling of work for field operatives, providing accurate and timely statistics and invoices reflecting business performance and the administration of Productivity Schemes.

Due to the wide variety of roles we offer within MeterPlus, your working environment will depend entirely on the job you're applying for.

  • Meter Readers, Meter Fixers/Electricians and Revenue Recovery/Protection
    These roles are field based, so you should be comfortable visiting customers' homes or businesses and working with minimal supervision and contact with other colleagues. You will usually be supplied with a vehicle, and extensive walking and driving is required in all posts and in all weathers!

  • Call Centre Advisers, Clerical Assistants and other professionals
    These roles are based within our comfortable, open plan offices.
