Apprenticeships

We're big fans of apprenticeships. They're a great way to begin a career and they've provided us with some truly excellent people over the years.

We offer four year advanced apprenticeships in Electrical, Control & Instrumentation and Mechanical Engineering. Our scheme, one of the best in the UK, classified as ‘outstanding' by OFSTED 2008, not only enables you to attain qualifications through training, but also provides the opportunity for you to gain practical hands-on experience.

You'll achieve a range of qualifications, which are certified by City & Guild, IEF or QCA including:

  • NVQ levels 2 and 3
  • 5 Key Skills
  • BTEC National Certificate (You could even work towards a BTEC Higher Certificate)

Power Technician Traineeships

Our four year Power Technician Traineeships give you the opportunity to both gain qualifications and benefit from hands-on experience. As well as attending formal training courses at our partner college, you’ll learn from experienced staff on a range of work placements in operations, engineering and maintenance, enabling you to apply the skills you’ve gained during your studies.

From your third year onwards you’ll spend the majority of your time at your base location. You’ll take courses relating to your specific discipline, as well as more general courses including IOSH Managing Safely, Leadership and Teamworking. On successful completion of the scheme you’ll be a skilled technician with an HNC qualification together with an EngTech accreditation with a leading Engineering Institute.
