RWE npower runs a number of competitions, aimed at different groups of people within UK universities. We believe it is vital that companies support the development of employability skills; an area upon which, through numerous initiatives between Career Advisory Services and academic departments, all universities are focusing.
The RWE npower competitions are designed to develop different aspects of entrants’ employability skills, provide a greater knowledge of the industry and raise awareness of the potential career opportunities within our company.
During the course of the academic year, in addition to sponsoring awards at specific universities, RWE npower runs two main competitions –
The RWE npower Energy Challenge
The RWE npower Future Leaders Competition
The types of skills that participants can expect to further develop and demonstrate are:
Time management, project management, event organisation, team working, networking, people management, commercial awareness, etc.
The type of employability skills you would gain as an entrant are similar to those you would expect to gain from a summer placement – whether or not you’ve been able to secure an ‘in-company’ experience, when applying for graduate roles you will be in a position to demonstrate clearly you are able to work with a leading company on implementing a project over a sustained period of time.
