RWE npower is one of the UK’s leading integrated energy companies. With a combined generation capacity of over 11,000MW, our flexible power station portfolio consists of coal, oil, biomass and gas-fired stations, across the UK. We also operate 16 Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plants. Pembroke Power Station comprises five generating units, each of 420MW, with the ability to generate power for around three and a half million homes. The station is in its hot commissioning stage and will soon enter commercial operation. Of course our most valuable asset is the energy behind all of these facilities and equipment – our people.
Flexible and forward thinking, with excellent IT, communications and diagnostic skills and a good awareness of health and safety. Working within a multi-disciplined team, you will take responsibility for the continued reliability and availability of the UK’s largest and most efficient CCGT power station by carrying out planned preventative maintenance and breakdown maintenance. You must live, or be prepared to relocate to within 60 minutes/40 miles drive of the power station. You will be permanently based at Pembroke power station with opportunities to support other stations as a part of your development.
You will have a proven track record in heavy electrical maintenance across a range of electrical equipment. You must have served a recognised trade apprenticeship to at least NVQ Level 3 to be able to demonstrate equivalent competence in heavy electrical maintenance. You will be able to demonstrate experience on electrical equipment associated with heavy industry, including Motors, Switchgear (up to 22kV), Actuators, Battery & DC Systems, Hazardous Area equipment, General electrical installations (Lighting etc.) and Fault investigation/diagnostics. Ideally, you will have worked or currently be working as an Electrical Technician or Electrical Maintenance Craftsman within the Process, Power or Oil & Gas Industry.

Salary - £29,770 to £31,000 (dependent on experience and competence)
