Part of RWE npower, one of the UK’s largest gas and electricity suppliers, Energy Services is a relatively new business. As well as making sure npower products work as they should in consumers homes, Energy Services consists of several key areas including gas central heating systems servicing and repairs, metering services and developing new energy services and products for private domestic, council and social housing, Industrial and Commercial customers.
Accountabilities
The preparation of estimates from site inspections, drawings, specifications and bill of quantities for domestic and light commercial projects.
Examining tender documents, advising managers of bid prospects and liaising with various departments as well as the preparation of sub-contractor enquiries.
Successfully manage own time to deliver bids to high standard within time frames.
Market test of sub-contract and plant packages to obtain competitive bid values.
Design pipe sizing based on basic data.
Alternative product of service substitution.
To provide professional advice and technical support to the company, client and customer on all aspects of the estimate.
Provide accurate information to project and contract managers on procurement of works.
When required provide accurate and detailed survey information for incorporation in tenders for new projects and contracts.
Assist the project and contract managers in delivering project schedules and completions to the client on time.
Promote good practice in Health, Safety & Environmental standards both personal & company.
Ensure appropriately qualified resources are available for the delivery of services in a professional and timely manner and in line with our service standards and business plan.
Drive compliance with operational service standards in line with Energy Services requirements.

Knowledge & Skills
Able to demonstrate the ability to prepare estimates, itemised tender pricing and procurement schedules for tenders, work programs and individual projects, producing reports prior to commencement.
Able to maintain and develop client relationships.
Recent experience in the interpretation of CAD drawings and concepts for incorporation in to tender documentation and working drawings.
Experience in pricing work accurately to maximise the opportunity to win the bid.
High degree of commercial acumen to deliver financial targets.
Having worked in a changing business environment requiring innovative thinking and re-engineering contracts to provide better value for money.
Strong problem solving aptitude.
Understanding and interpretation of current industry regulations and requirements
Salary: c. £35,000
