Job Description
We’re seeking experienced, specialist procurement professionals to manage, develop and oversee designated categories. Accountable for providing a complete and compliant procurement service to a specific function within npower, you’ll be the primary contact for category spend in your business area. We’ll expect you to ensure cost effective, commercially beneficial procurement of goods and services, while optimising expenditure and making sure all business needs are fully met.
Category Lead - Sales
Based in Worcester, this role calls for experience relevant to sales, such as looking after brokers.
These are varied roles with important responsibilities. Driving best practice procurement initiatives and innovative solutions, you’ll reduce costs, improve services and make processes more efficient. Creating commercial strategies and acting as expert lead in all commercial negotiations, you’ll ensure we benefit from best value. Working collaboratively with key stakeholders, you’ll play a key role in all aspects of supplier selection and performance management. Maintaining expert market and product knowledge, and actively developing junior staff, you’ll be a champion for procurement.
A commercially aware individual with a proven track record appropriate to your category, you’ll either hold or be working towards a CIPS qualification. Your knowledge and experience will include procurement of goods and services, tenders, negotiations and framework agreements. Confident working at a senior level with suppliers, customers and across functional boundaries, you’ll demonstrate excellent relationship building, communication and influencing skills.
