Job Description

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Regulatory Economics and Planning Manager to work full time from our office in Solihull.

Foreshadowing changes in the regulatory and market environment, you will develop actionable strategies to ensure that our price structuring is commercially optimal whilst minimizing regulatory, reputational, operational risk. This role has a real impact on the bottom line. Non-compliance during price changes and product launches alone could result in financial fines of up to £40m.

To succeed in this high profile and specialist opportunity, you will need to be excellent in stakeholder management. After all, you’ll be undertaking important projects for the Npower Executive Board. Your strong networking skills, confidence, and gravitas will complemented by a detailed understanding of the complex interplay between costs, margin aspirations, tariff structuring, and regulatory requirement for transparency and simplicity.

You’ll come to us with a sound understanding of economics, econometrics, finance, numerical and statistical analyses and business strategy gained during an economics degree or similar. This will be backed up by strong commercial acumen, expertise in IT including financial modelling, and in-depth knowledge of the energy industry. A background in corporate finance would be desirable. The ability to see the bigger picture will be essential.

RWE npower supplies electricity and gas to millions of residential and business customers. We’re part of RWE Group, one of Europe’s leading utilities. Of course, the real energy behind our businesses is our people.
