Full-time: 37 hours

Part of RWE npower, one of the UK’s largest gas and electricity suppliers, Energy Services is a relatively new business. As well as making sure npower products work as they should in consumers homes, Energy Services consists of several key areas including gas central heating systems servicing and repairs, metering services and developing new energy services and products for private domestic, council and social housing, industrial and commercial customers.

MeterPlus is the brand name of npower’s Metering Business. We are responsible for discussing and negotiating our customer’s outstanding accounts and agreeing various options to obtain full settlement.

Accountabilities

Reporting to a Field Team Manager your duties will include:

Doorstep collection of cash/cheques for outstanding debts belonging to npower residential & business customers.

Setting up of payment arrangements (regular payment schemes/direct debits/prepayment meters) when payments in full are not possible.

Carry out Gas Safety Inspections.

Visit vacant properties, take meter readings & ascertain whether occupied or not.

Attend HM courts to seek authorisation for a ‘Rights of Entry’ warrant to enter npower customer’s premises to either fit a prepayment meter or isolate the electricity/gas supply.

Carry out the warrant duties as above.

Work outdoors and visit multiple customers per day.

Act as a representative and ambassador for the company in the execution of your duties.

Skills & Know how

Must have the degree of computer literacy essential to utilise hand held communication devices

Good interpersonal skills in both written and verbal communication with the confidence to manage potential conflict in an appropriate way.

Ability to analyse and problem solve to reach clear solutions

Ability to plan and organise your own time

Ability to work alone and unsupervised, but also possess a good team ethic when working within groups

Have a tenacious approach to overcoming potential barriers in order to achieve goals through hard work and commitment.

Goes the extra mile to succeed

Customer facing experience preferred

Cash handling experience would be an advantage

Geographical knowledge of the area would be advantageous.

Only applicants with a full UK driving licence can be considered.

This is a physically demanding role involving walking, bending, kneeling and driving for large parts of the day.

Hours of work – Full time, worked as mainly afternoon shifts and some Saturday working required.

Salary £17,060 p.a. There is also a monthly bonus scheme in place.
