Join the future of energy at innogy Renewables

13/12 2017Posted by: npower Resourcing Team Subscribe to this blog

Project Procurement Management is an integral part of our innogy Renewables business. As we move further towards a renewable energy future, we’re looking for new permanent team members to join us and help to drive progress in wind energy.

Our projects

Our current windfarm strategy sees us chasing a significant number of leads, which means we’re speculatively looking at many different opportunities across the world. As opportunities come to fruition, we need to mobilise teams to take action - and that includes Project Procurement Managers. Our current team members in this position work in a mix of offshore, onshore and hydro projects, and while procurement professionals can move between technologies to support peaks and troughs, these new roles are specifically to support our offshore growth phase.

Mobility is ideal

The Swindon-based roles are ideal for those who enjoy travelling, with project activities taking place all over the world. Our Project Procurement Managers can work in Swindon, Hull and Hamburg, with further wind project opportunities emerging in destinations as far afield as Poland, Taiwan, North America and Australia. Because of this, mobility is a huge bonus for us as employers.

Other skills we’re looking for include the ability to work effectively in a matrix management structure with high levels of communication. We want team players who will work in either the pre-contract or post-contract management and execution phase. The fast-paced nature of the work means that our ideal Project Procurement Managers are energised by working quickly and responding to changes and challenges.

Why join us?

As well as the opportunity to travel, Project Procurement Management at innogy allows people to be right at the forefront of the renewables industry. As ‘green thinking’ continues to drive forward around the world, it’s an exciting time to be part of offshore wind projects. The projects we’re working on and bidding for are of a huge magnitude, including one 4.5 gigawatt offshore windfarm that is bigger than a nuclear reactor. Our team are involved in building offshore windfarms that have a greater generating capability than the biggest nuclear power station in the country, with wind turbines bigger than the London Eye. The work is on a huge scale, and you can be a part of it.

As the renewable energy market is still young and evolving, with technology developing at a rapid pace, there’s constant change and adaptation in our industry. We come up against interesting challenges every day, from developing new ways to pull cables through the seabed through to uncovering obstacles like a 12th century bronze cannon. As a Project Procurement Manager, you’re involved in all aspects of the work required to help navigate these obstacles, along with a variety of other large-scale wind turbine generators.

As a business, we’re embarking on a very exciting and aggressive growth plan which will see us positioned in the top three offshore wind developers in the world. Renewable energy is a huge focus for us as a group, and the multinational nature of the business means you’ll enjoy the career opportunities you’d expect in an organisation of our size.

Apply now

As we push forward with these offshore wind projects, we need Project Procurement Managers who will own our company values and drive cross-project initiatives forward. If you have worked in construction procurement or the oil and gas or renewables industry, with relevant education or experience that can be applied to Project Procurement Management, we’d love to hear from you. See more about the opportunity here.
